How to Care for Your Jewelry
Jewelry Care Tips:
Store your jewelry in a dry place such as a jewelry box. This will keep it dry and protected.
Don’t wear your jewelry in water, eg: pool, beach, bath.
Chemicals such cologne, beauty products, soaps, etc. can cause jewelry to tarnish.
Remove during physical activities and anything that may cause profuse sweating.
Take off before bed.
Cleaning Procedure:
Generally you should keep your jewelry as dry as possible. When it does require a little cleaning, a couple of drops of very mild dishwashing liquid in a warm bowl of water for 5 minutes should do. Then, with a soft toothbrush gently brush, pat dry and use soft polishing cloth. Jewelry that have stone settings should be treated with extra care. Excessive cleaning, using harsh cleaners or using an at home ultrasonic cleaner could damage or loosen stone setting.
Some Of Our Products May Have An Anti-Tarnish Coating Or Are Rhodium Plated, where stated.
The coating is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and is a plating process that puts a barrier on silver to extend the product’s shelf life. While the coating will extend shelf life (2 to 3 times as long), it does not guarantee that the silver will not eventually tarnish.
Rhodium plating is used to create a white reflective appearance on jewelry. As it is a part of the platinum metal family, it’s harder than gold and silver, so it provides jewelry with a durable surface which resists scratches and tarnish.
Even with these protective measures it does not mean your jewelry won’t ever tarnish, so when possible follow the Jewelry Care Tips above to provide more protection.
